....

i havent had much time to knit lately....ive got a lot of school work to do and everything, so sometimes the only time i get is on fridays when i go to that knitting group after school at the library...but ive been doing better

last weekend, i finally bought yarn and needles for the french market bag from knitty...but im not going to start that until after the holidays...i also finally bought yarn to make my friends slytherin scarf...im not telling her though because i want to suprise her and send it to her for christmas!

speaking of christmas....the dishcloths are going good...ive got about 3 done....not that many but like i said i dont have endless amounts of time to sit and knit

i have a 4 day weekened due to the holiday this weekend so im pretty sure ill be having quite a bit of time to work on projects....

corrin [from the library] got three big boxes full of yarn from a friend, and shes bringing me in some...last week she brought me in 5 skeins of this beautiful blue verigated mohair yarn...its absolutely gorgeous...and soo soft too!

still no pictures :(...i know this blog isnt really exciting, or thrilling to look at because i dont have pictures...but im working on it

thats all for now

to all who read this, please comment and...

Happy Knitting!

Christmas Crafting Update

alright, well i havent had too much time to work on things with my school work and such... it seems like theyre piling it on lately, but anyway things are moving along quite smoothly

i had to go and buy some more yarn for the dishcloths because i can only get roughly about 1 and a little over a half out of one skein... so instead of spending money on individual colors i just bought this big cone of it... its multi colored, there was one pound of the yarn and it was only about 6 dollars i think.. .cheaper then buying the individual ones

i cant make my sister that hat, because the yarn the pattern is for is made with wool, and she is allergic to wool, unless i can figure out a way to line the hat, or use a different yarn

i went to go buy my mom the sea foam green chenille yarn but they didnt have the color so i didnt know if there was another color i should get.... plus it was 7 dollars a skein and i was running out of money

so ive had a bit of a pot hole i guess you could call it, in my christmas crafting.. but i think it should be alright from here

thats all

Christmas Crafting

Yes, well I know that it is only November 7th... but I still think I need to get a head start on all the items I plan to knit for people this year... heres what I've come up with so far...

Mom~ 5 dishcloths, 1 chenille scarf

Kayla (sister)~ a neat flapper hat i found a pattern for online, possibly with a matching scarf using the same yarn as the hat

Auntie Jean~ 5 dishcloths

Rusty (sewing teacher)~ 5 dishcloths, mini knitting needle and yarn ball pin

thats not all I'm giving, but thats all I'm knitting... well as far as I know right now... seeing as my mom is still my main source of yarn buyage I dont have a unlimited amount of money to spend, but I am saving some here and there, ya know extra lunch money and what not... I have about $21 in an envelope I think.... its not much I know that, but it should be enough to buy some more yarn for the dishcloths ... I think I can only get one full one for the skein.... and the yarn for my mom's scarf... I have to buy that with my own money, because if not I would be approached with the questions of... "Well what is this for? I want to know before I buy the yarn what you are going to be making." I dont blame here.. .she wants to make sure I'm going to use it and she just isnt spending money and yarn, for the sake of me to fill up that lovely new basket i have!

I havent been working much on my moss stitch bag... I'm trying to get Christmas things done first, then finish the bag for me... but thats alright its not that big of a deal

In my Fiber Arts class we're doing more felting... I couldnt think of anything to do, and then I thought of the brilliant idea of a felted bowl for holding my skein of yarn while I knit... so I dont have to chase it around the living room, or better yet my cat doesnt! So far so good with that....though I'm still not sure how sturdy it is going to be, but I'll find out soon enough!

I'm going to talk to my cousing this week, and see if she could possibly drop the camera off on Thursday night, and pick it up on Friday... I have no school on Friday, so that would be a good day for me to stay in and take pictures, plenty of time... so hopefully I will have pictures of all my creations (except maybe the felted bowl because if its not done i have to leave it at school, unless of course i get permission to bring it home, and then back to school) ... and all of my works in progress... i hope i hope i hope!!

well for all who read this... please comment, and Happy Knitting!

WOOOOOOO

alright... well i am EXTREAMLY excited because i FINALLY worked it out so i could have my upcoming projects on the side and my works in progress on the side with those percentage bars!! all thanks to my new blogging friend Kym... check out her blog everybody!! http://stixandthecity.blogspot.com/ theres the link!! ohh im so excited!

im making dishcloths from my grandmother's pattern for my aunt and mom for Christmas...i made a test one and it came out really nice!

that moss stitch bag is coming out really nice... though i have yet to find the right handles that match it... which is a little upsetting.. who knows ive only checked at one store, but i think ill drag my mom out to the other 3 craft stores i know of lol...

i went to Jo-Ann's today... they had this really cool autumn-y yarn on sale for like 2dollars.. i got about 6 skeins i think... i also got these really cute magnets...theyre thimbles, and this little retractable measuring tape its in this little square shape and it has thread and sewing needles all over it.. its adorable .... i also got some Sugar n' Cream 100% cotton yarn to make dishcloths with ... i got one that is like an off white and it has random spekcs of a light pink, purple, and blue in it... i got a vergitate brown and off white one, i got a verigated pink and white one... and i also got this really funky bright yellow, orange and pink one... theyre really nice

again when i can ill take pictures and post them... of EVERYTHING.... by the time i get to use a digital camera ill have to take about a billion pictures....

thats all

it's done!!!!

Ok,
I just finished the harry potter scarf...literally like 2 minutes ago!! i am soo happy... i actually ended up doing only 13 stripes because it was already down to mid thigh, and well i dont want it to be draggin on the groun, thats why i didnt do 15, or the full 19....but i like it the way it is... im just contemplating whether or not i should put fringe on it or not.....it looks cute with it, but it also looks nice without it... im not sure... im also trying to convince my mother to buy me some really nice purple yarn for the french market bag from knitty...ill get pictures as soon as i can.. thats all for now

should be done soon!!

Ive gotten permission from my Fiber Arts teacher and she said i could work on my harry potter scarf during class... with an hour to each class, four times a week... thats 4 hours just inside school ill have to work on it! it should be done.... no later then saturday i would think...unless i decide to do the full 19 stripes intead of just the 15.....still no pictures...but i might borrow my uncles camera to take some this weekend, ill see... thats all for now

xx midnight stitcher

also.... if anyone reads this and knows how i can get those sub category things on the side... like it will say.. on the needles... with a little precentage of how much is done....if you know how i can get that, please let me know i have been searching everywhere!

chugga chugga chugga chooo-choooo

hehehe....

ok well, the hp scarf train is moving along swiftly..hence the title ^__^ .... i think im going to end up doing only 15 stripes instead of the full 19 because it is getting offily long...i also think i need to find someone with a digital camera so i can take pictures and start posting... because quite frankly a knitting blog just isnt the same without some pictures... i think instead of spending my money on more yarn...that i really dont need, ill start saving my 10 dollars allowance every week and put it away for my own digital camera...that will take a while though... well thats all i have to say for now

poo on rye

well this totally bites....i have a pay as you go type cell phone, and i didnt 'top up' my phone by the date it said i had to, so they shut my phone off...which inevidably means that i couldnt upload the pictures to the computer....which bites because i took some really nice ones....sigh...ow well ill figure out a way to get them uploaded

knitting ADD

Ok, well i've become a victim of knitting ADD..hah...basically what im trying to say is that i've gotten pretty bored with working on my Harry Potter scarf, though it is coming along nicely...i needed a little break...so i went and bought some really nice sofe bulky red/purple verrigated [sp] yarn and some size 17 needles....its working out wonderful, im making a scarf...and this is going really quick to....because its all knit, not knit one row purl one row...and it turns out....that ive been purling wrong! who would have thought??? but hopefully i can pursuade my mom to bring me somewhere where i get service on my phone and i willl post pictures....thats all for now

<-- this is how far along i am on the HP house scarf....i took this before the cookout at my uncle's i went to today...i forgot to bring the red skein of yarn, so i could only finish the yellow stripe and then i had to stop

thats all the updates i have for now...i start school on tuesday, so i dont know how much time im going to have to dedicate to my knitting, but im going to try and give myself some time to do it...it helps me relax..but when i have more pictures ill post...if anyone reads this, post comments please

Harry Potter Scarf

ok well, i finished my pink scarf on saturday [no picture yet] and im starting the Harry Potter house scarf, in Gryffindor colors...i had to return the blue yarn i got, because it was all fuzzy and im not equipped enough to work with that yet, so im sticking to regular yarn for now...anyway lol here are pictures of the yarn for the scarf

<-- this is the gold yarn, excuse my toe i was taking the picture on the car floor

this is the burgundy yarn, excuse the blurriness and my other toe...its a deep red

and this is how far ive gotten, since yesturday at like 9

im a little farther along, though i found out im going to have to alter the pattern because right there is 20 rows, the pattern says to switch to the other color after 22 rows, and that is way to thin for the hp scarf, im going to have to do 44 i think...hopefully i dont run out of yarn, especially since i got the gold on sale.....ohh gosh that would be bad

new material...finally!

ok, well when i went to walmart today [which is how i could upload the pictures from my phone because i dont get service at my house] i bought some new yarn!! its not the yarn for the HP house scarves, but its the yarn for my tote/messenger bag...here are the pictures!

<-- this is a close up of the yarn in the place i took it, you cant tell but it has a little purple mixed into it..its pretty

<-- this is a better picture, you can see the purple towards the end

<-- this is the button im going to close the bag with, its sort of pearlized

!!!PICTURES!!!

<--- ok, well this is a close-up of how the scarf looks when it is knitted, as you can tell it goes from dark pink to light pink to white and then back

<-- this is the picture i took of my scarf on my very first post...August 19th i think, but i'll have to check on it...that was the very first day i learned how to knit, or maybe it was the day after i dont remember lol

<-- this is a picture of the scarf now! i took it today, its not totally done, but it's pretty much there...right now it is 30 inches long!! wohoo

knitting apprentice..yup thats me!

Knitting Apprentice
You appear to be a Knitting Apprentice. You've got the basics down pat and you might just
be falling in love with this hobby. Big
needles, funky yarns and simple shapes are the
name of the game, but it doesn't mean you don't
experiment a bit, here and there. As an
apprentice, you probably fall back on other
people to get you through those rough spots,
and if you don't know anyone who knits, you
probably have a few books or online sources to

What Kind of Knitter Are You?

im back!

well, i thought that quiz was pretty cool....i was on computer probation from my mom for the past 2 days, so ive been pretty much knitting 24/7 and good news! my pink scarf is almost done..yeah i decided to make it a scarf, since i had 2 skeins of the yarn, i didnt think i would have enough at first but, it turns out i do! wow loot huh? i think so, but yes after this i am hopefully going to get the yarn to make my messenger bag, and the HP house scarves..but idk when, soon i hope!...well thats all

sorry, no pictures

Ok, well because my cell phone gets no service at my house, i cannot upload the pictures i just took of what ive knitted so far...i will just describe it

Ok, well its about a foot long, and its knitted with a yarn that changes from a slightly dark pink to a light pink to a white then back from the white to the light pink to the slightly dark pink, and so on...i wuold say its about 5 inches wide...as soon as i can get some pictures i will post them...sorry

~first post~

Well, seeing as how i just officialy taught myself how to knit yesturday, i do not have much to post. I dont have a digital camera, so I am either going to have to take pictures with my cell phone, or with a disposable camera and post my projects all at once..i think ill try the camera..just to see how the pictures come out. So far i am still just practicing, trying to make all the stiches the same tension and what not, but i am hoping to make some Harry Potter house scarves, a Hermione hat and mitten set, and small messenger bag and all that good stuff. I am going to start off small though...and well thats all for now. When i get a picture i will post it
